On your phone
Your phone already records. Startt does the rest.
Phone browsers can’t capture the screen from a web page (Apple and Google don’t allow it). So Startt works the other way round: record with your phone’s built-in recorder, upload the video, and Startt finds every step.
On iPhone or iPad
- Open Control Center and tap Screen Recording. (Not there? Settings → Control Center → add it.)
- Do the task in any app, then tap the red status pill to stop.
- Open startt.xyz, tap Startt, and choose the video from Photos.
On Android
- Swipe down twice to open Quick Settings and tap Screen record.
- Do the task, then stop from the notification.
- Open startt.xyz, tap Startt, and pick the video.
What happens next
Startt scans the video on your device, keeps a frame every time the screen changes and settles, and writes the guide. The video never leaves your phone. Only the key screenshots go to the AI to write the text.
Tips for a great phone guide
- Pause a beat on each screen so Startt catches a clean frame.
- Turn on Do Not Disturb so notifications don’t become steps.
- Already have a recording? It works on a laptop too: use Upload a screen recording on the home page.
Questions
Does narration work for uploaded videos?
Not yet. Startt writes the guide from the screens. You can edit any step afterwards, or ask Startt to add detail.
Which video formats work?
MP4 and MOV screen recordings from iPhone and Android work in their default browsers, as do WebM files on desktop.
