Chrome extension
Every click, named and snapped.
The Startt extension knows exactly what you clicked and what the button says. Click through a task in any tab and Startt writes “Click Save changes”, not “click the blue thing”.
How it works
- Click the Startt icon and press Startt capturing (or press Alt + Shift + S).
- Work through your task in any tab. Each click is snapped with the button highlighted and its label recorded.
- Press Stop & write my guide. Startt opens with your steps, writes the text and blurs private info.
Install the beta
- Download the extension: startt-chrome-extension.zip, then unzip it.
- Open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode (top right).
- Click Load unpacked and choose the unzipped startt-chrome-extension folder.
- Pin Startt from the puzzle-piece menu. The Chrome Web Store listing is on its way.
Extension or no extension?
Both make great guides. The web recorder needs nothing installed and captures every screen change, including your voice. The extension adds exact click positions and button names, which makes the written steps sharper, and it keeps working as you move between tabs.
Privacy
The extension does nothing until you press Startt capturing. It never records what you type, only that a field was filled. Screenshots stay on your computer until you open them in Startt, where private info is blurred before anything is shared.

Which browsers does the extension support?
Chrome, plus Chrome-based browsers such as Edge, Brave and Arc.
Why does it need access to all websites?
To notice your clicks and take screenshots on whichever site you’re documenting. It stays idle unless you’re capturing.
